"fließen" – three-dimensional art by Melina Bigales

The exhibition "fließen" ("floating") can be seen in St. Jacobi from June 15 to July 13.

Permanence and time, movement and stillness, natural processes in contrast to cultural processes — these are the themes currently engaging artist Melina Bigale, who lives on a skerry island near Gothenburg. For St. Jacobi, she created an installation in which the traces of time within the building encounter videos of natural movements, entering into a dialogue.

Melina Bigale, born in 1992 in Kiel, holds a Master’s degree in Contemporary Performative Arts from the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, Sweden (2022), and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design, where she studied under Professors Elisabeth Wagner and Dr. Petra Maria Meyer, as well as a degree in Philosophy from Kiel University (2021). Since 2015, she has participated in numerous exhibitions in Germany and Sweden.

The Exhibition is open during church opening hours from June 15 to July 13
